ECASD Board of Education Initiates Superintendent Search; Community Encouraged to Provide Input

The Eau Claire Area School District (ECASD) is officially beginning a national search for its next Superintendent.

“We see this as an important time to engage the strengths and wisdom of the entire Eau Claire community — our students and their families, our alumni, the business community, and other friends and supporters of the District — in a broad effort to help shape our promising future,” says School Board President Eric Torres.

The district is hosting community forums to get input about the most important characteristics the public wants to see in a superintendent, and ideas on ways candidates can best engage when they come to Eau Claire for on-site interviews.

Thursday, October 24 • 5:00-6:00 PM • South Middle School

Wednesday, October 30 • 7:00-8:00 PM • DeLong Middle School

Saturday, November 2 • 9:00-10:00 AM • Northstar Middle School

The district also is providing an anonymous survey for input, which will be open through November 2.  Click here to take the survey.

The school board will be recruiting candidates this fall with a January 1 application deadline. After selecting finalists and conducting on-site interviews, late April is the target date for a decision. The planned start date for the new superintendent is July 1, 2020.
