January 2016 Board Highlights
The Board approved cancelling the scheduled trip to Italy in November 2016 and instead promote a trip to Peru in February/March 2017.
The Board approved the following slate of officers for 2016-2017:
Board Chair: Dave Johnson, EO Johnson Business Technologies
Board Chair Elect: Tim Benedict, Benedict Refrigeration
Secretary/Treasurer: Laura Talley, BMO Harris Bank
Past Board Chair: Faye Deich, HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital

Based on discussions at the Strategic Planning Retreat, the Board voted to approve the following changes to the Chamber's Mission and Vision Statements:
Mission Statement: The Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce is the advocate of business.
The Vision Statement: The Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce is the leader in the
progressive development of the Chippewa Valley through the efforts of the business community.
The slogan "Our Community is Our Business" will remain unchanged.

The Chamber's annual "State of the City" breakfast. Eau Claire City Council President Kerry Kincaid will address the theme, Big Things Happened in Eau Claire in 2015 - Not All of Them Downtown. Even though Eau Claire is experiencing a downtown renaissance of epic proportions, and city staff exerted significant energy and resources partnering with the private sector on this exciting development, there were other important things on their plate as well. This is a Chamber members only event.

State Talent Conference
Tuesday, February 23, Monona Terrace
1:00-4:30 p.m.
Join local Chamber members and business people from around the state at the annual Business Day in Madison, presented by Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce. Get insights on economic and demographic trends, policy updates and more from featured speakers Larry Kudlow, Stephen Hayes and Ken Gronbach. There will also be addresses by Senator Ron Johnson and Governor Scott Walker.
The Eau Claire Chamber will coordinate carpooling for those attending from the Chippewa Valley, and discounted lodging is available for those traveling in the night before. The earlybird registration fee for Business Day of $140 is available through January 30 Click here to register online
State Talent Conference: WMC is also hosting a Talent Conference the afternoon before, February 23. It features a look at our state’s demographics and what it will take to attract new talent.
