"Think Eau Claire" Video and Website to Premiere at Workforce Solutions Summit

Monday, October 29
8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Pablo Center at the Confluence
128 Graham Avenue

A new tool designed to help local employers attract talent to the Chippewa Valley will be unveiled at the first-ever Workforce Solutions Summit next Monday, October 29, at the Pablo Center at the Confluence. Created for the Chamber’s Employers Workforce Initiative in a partnership with Volume One, the “Think Eau Claire” video and website will affirm our area’s attributes as a great place to live and work. It’s designed to complement Wisconsin’s Think-Make-Happen initiative to draw talent to the state, and will be available for any Chamber member employer to use in their recruiting efforts.

The premiere is just one of many of practical ideas, strategies, resources, best practices, and success stories that will be shared at the Summit – all dedicated to attracting, hiring and retaining employees in today’s tight labor market. Sessions and breakouts will focus on reaching students to keep future generations here, expanding the workforce by overcoming barriers to employment, upskilling/retaining talent, and more. Zach Halmstad, Pablo Properties co-owner and Jamf founder, will deliver the luncheon keynote on “Why I’ve Invested in Eau Claire.”

Make plans now to attend. The registration fee is just $35 and includes lunch. The event begins at 8:00 a.m. and concludes with a 3:00 p.m. reception at Visit Eau Claire’s new Experience Center inside the Pablo Center.

Sponsors and contributors include Workforce Resource, the Pablo Center at the Confluence, Royal Credit Union, Momentum West, Marshfield Clinic, Prevea Health, Xcel Energy, U.S. Bank, Charter Bank, Ruder Ware, LLC and JB Systems.

Sponsored by: Achieve Wellness, HSHS Sacred Heart & St. Joseph's hospitals, Group Health Cooperative of Eau Claire, Marshfield Clinic Health System, Mayo Clinic Health System, Optimum Therapies, Prevea Health and REALiving

Join the Eau Claire Chamber's Workplace Wellness Program for our October Workplace Wellness Learning Circle! Our speaker this session will be AJ Sherman, Chief Operating Officer, Achieve Wellness, LLC. AJ has more than 12 years of experience in the corporate health and wellness field as a consultant, operations leader and project manager. He has been a key figure in helping companies save hundreds of thousands of dollars every year by helping them proactively manage their health population through wellness programs and on-site/near-site clinical strategies. He now leads Achieve Wellness, a local company that specializes in creating healthcare and wellness solutions for any type of organization.

Presentation Description:
HEALTHCARE COST. Already extreme. Still rising at a pace far greater than standard inflation. Many say it is unsustainable for businesses and employees. Surveys frequently reveal this remains the #1 concern of employers across the nation. It decimates profits for the company while eating away at employees paychecks right alongside high deductibles, which force them to choose between crippling financial burdens and the medical needs of their families.

With a discussion led by AJ Sherman of Achieve Wellness, we will dig deeper to reveal the two main sources of employers’ current medical care spend. With a better understanding of these sources, employers who attend can learn how to more specifically target their strategies to address the issue of healthcare spend.
