New Date: Chippewa Valley Rally
Wednesday, February 20, 2019, in Madison

Postponed last week because of the weather, the new date for the 25th Annual Chippewa Valley Rally is Wednesday, February 20.

There’s still time to sign up and join over 100 business and community leaders from the Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire and Menomonie areas to bring important economic issues to policy makers in Madison. Same-day charter bus transportation is available from Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire or Menomonie, or you can travel on your own.

Key issues for the 2019 Rally will include: Providing vigorous state leadership on workforce challenges, investing in critical infrastructure, and leveraging the economic impact of public education. One of the top priorities is the proposed new science building at UW-Eau Claire needed to replace aging Phillips Hall.

The event is organized by the Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire and Menomonie Chambers of Commerce.

Sponsored by Market & Johnson, Northwestern Bank, Xcel Energy, University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire Foundation, Dunn County Economic Development Corporation, HSHS Sacred Heart & St. Joseph's hospitals, Marshfield Clinic, Mayo Clinic Health System, Momentum West, Royal Credit Union, and Weld Riley S.C.

Business Hosts Wanted: Middle School Career Tours

One of the ways to encourage young people growing up in the Chippewa Valley to stay here and begin their careers is to give them an opportunity to see those jobs in action right here in the area.

The Chamber has upcoming opportunities for employers to host groups of up to 20 Middle School students at a time for brief tour experiences. This complements the Academic and Career Planning curricula being taught in local schools, and provides a chance for local employers to give them a taste of the kinds of jobs available right here. The next set of tours are being planned for the morning of March 20 for students from DeLong Middle School in Eau Claire.

If you’re an employer interested in participating in hosting one of these tour experiences, contact Scott Rogers, the Chamber’s Governmental Affairs & Workforce Director at rogers@eauclairechamber.org
