Join the Chamber's Health & Wellness program for a session on "Taking Care of You" - a session focused on stress management.

Taking Care of You (TCY) is a research-based program that offers practical strategies and experiences to help people deal with the stress in their lives. Managing life’s challenges in healthy ways allows participants to take better care of themselves and their overall health.

Participants will consider ways to:

  • Become more aware of the mind-body connection and how to use this awareness for better health
  • Develop habits that can lead to a healthier person: body, mind, and spirit
  • Respond versus react to the stress in life
  • Discover opportunities in life’s challenges
  • Find ways to bring more joy into life
  • Simplify life
  • Live more in the moment

About our presenter:
Jeanne Walsh works for the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Division of Extension, as the Human Development & Relationship Educator for Chippewa County. Jeanne has been with Chippewa County for the past 4 years, and her primary program areas include both financial stability and health and wellbeing. She is a Master Trainer in Taking Care of You: Body, Mind, Spirit, a research-based stress management program for adults. Jeanne will be sharing some practical strategies and experiences from the Taking Care of You program, and participants will come away with a unique stress management approach designed to help them deal with the stress in their lives.

Thank you to our program sponsors for making this seminar possible:
Achieve Wellness, HSHS Sacred Heart St. Joesph’s, Group Health Cooperative of Eau Claire, Marshfield Clinic Health System, Mayo Clinic Health System, Optimum Therapies, Prevea Health and UnitedHealthcare.

Programs & Services
SOHO - Small Business Survival Academy
Tuesday, April 9
Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce - PESI Conference Room
12:00 - 1:00 p.m

Please join us for lunch on Tuesday, April 9th at the first ever Small Business Survival Academy!  This new series from the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce was created for both members and non-members to create educational and networking opportunities for small business owners and their employees.

Small business owners and employees often wear many hats, and not always well.  Sometimes you just need someone to pitch an idea to and get constructive feedback.  Getting advice from your Aunt Gertrude might not be as helpful as connecting with another small business person.

Whether you need someone to offer guidance or help keep you accountable, at this luncheon you will learn more about the Planning Peer Partner Program (or P3 Program as we like to call it) and have an opportunity to connect with your business peers.

Make plans to have lunch with us and learn more about this valuable opportunity to connect!  The cost to attend is $10 for chamber members and $20 for non-members – lunch provided. Bring a non-member and be entered into a drawing for free admission to Business After Hours!

UWEC Science Building Next Step:
Joint Finance Committee - April 15 Hearing in River Falls

The next critical step in moving UWEC's proposed Science Building forward in the state budget is now action by the legislature’s Joint Finance Committee, which will hold a public hearing on Monday, April 15, in River Falls.

A very visible presence and support from our local business community will be an important factor in persuading the Joint Finance Committee to keep the Science Building in the budget.

If you would consider traveling to River Falls next Monday as part of a Chamber contingent, or you are otherwise interested in providing input to the Joint Finance Committee, contact Scott Rogers at the Chamber: rogers@eauclairechamber.org or (715) 858-0616.
