US Open Chainsaw Sculpture Championship
August 4-7, 2016
At the Paul Bunyan Logging Camp Museum, Carson Park
Are you looking for a unique, high-energy event before getting back to the busyness and routine of fall schedules? The US Open Sculpture Chainsaw Championship August 4-7, 2016 has the world’s best chainsaw carvers competing for prizes.
Thursday is free admission day for everyone. Friday and Saturday artists carve all day and at 5:00 pm a social evening starts with a quick-carve competition and auction. Sunday the Sue Orfield Band takes the stage at 1 and at 3, the award ceremony is held, followed by an auction of the competition pieces.
Guest carvers create pieces daily which are auctioned off throughout the event, kids’ activities and inflatables take place all four days, and there is a variety of great food to enjoy. Get your tickets early at any Gordy’s: one-day tickets are $5 and event tickets are $10. Kids up to age 17 are free for the entire event.
