Eau What a Night: 105th Chamber Annual Meeting

The Chamber and Title Sponsor, WEAU 13 News, invite you to join us for Eau What a Night, the Chamber's 105th Annual Meeting! 

The evening will kick off at 5:30 pm with a cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception, catered by KP Katering.  Attendees can expect a full array of abundant, scrumptious hors d'oeuvres along with several cash bars throughout the venue.  The reception will provide plenty of time to network and connect with your fellow Chamber members.

Do you know current sophomores from Altoona, Augusta, Fall Creek, Memorial, North or Regis high school who want to develop leadership skills and become more involved in the community? Encourage them to apply! Application deadline is April 5. More information can be found on the Chamber's website.

The Eau Claire Chamber Education Foundation is seeking sponsors to support its Youth Leadership Eau Claire program. Each year, about 70 students apply for the class with enrollment of only 36. The program is made possible with $500 sponsorships for each student. Please consider becoming a sponsor and helping us develop our future community leaders. The Chamber and the Chippewa Valley Society for Human Resource Management (CVSHRM) will present its seventh annual Human Resource Conference specifically geared for human resource professionals, small business owners and managers. The conference will provide a variety of sessions to keep the HR professional or business owner in the know about key issues affecting the workforce. SHRM credit approval is pending. 

Welcome and Opening Keynote – 8 – 9 a.m.

The conference will begin with a keynote presentation from Jim Morgan, Vice President of Member Experience for MRA on trends and opportunities for HR professionals in 2019.  Talent attraction is like the weather...everyone is talking about it but no one can do anything about it...or can they? All over the upper Midwest, employers and human resources professionals are grappling with attracting, developing, and retaining talent. Jim has been working on that issue for 30 years. He helps employers understand that demographics are driving their troubles and provides solutions for talent acquisition based on best practices.  Jim will also look at where we are at in HR today, what’s coming in 2019 and what is keeping HR pros up at night.  This opening session is a “can't miss” opportunity!

April 2 Local Election: Candidate Forums to Help You Decide

Several important local city council and school board positions will be on the ballot when voters go to the polls on April 2.

The Chamber is co-hosting a series of Candidate Forums for contested race to help you make your decisions. They include:

Thursday, March 7: Eau Claire City Council President

Thursday, March 14: Eau Claire School Board (3 seats)

Thursday, March 21: Eau Claire At-Large City Council (5 seats)

Click the links above for more details. Each Forum begins at 6:30 p.m. at Chippewa Valley Technical College, 620 W. Clairemont Ave. Following a moderated Q&A session, there will also be a Meet & Greet opportunity for voters to talk informally with the candidates. 

These Forums are organized by the Leader-Telegram, WQOW News 18, Wisconsin Public Radio, Valley Media Works, and the Chamber.
