A note from Dave Minor: New Chamber Staff

I'm very excited to announce the Chamber’s two new employees.

Kaylynn Stahlbusch will be filling the role of our Workforce & Program Director. As the new Workforce & Program Director, she will be taking what Scott Rogers and the Workforce Committee have been developing for the past 18 months and putting those goals into action as well as continuing to develop new goals and action items that will help you our members solve your workforce problems.

Kaylynn comes to us from the Eau Claire County Aging & Disability Resource Center. She is also a member of the Young Professionals and a member of Chippewa Valley After Hours Rotary Club.

Phil Swiler will be taking on the role of Membership Development, formerly Amy Muehlbauer’s role. Amy is leaving the Chamber to follow her passion and dream in real-estate. Phil comes to us with over 10 years with a strong sales and networking background.

Both Kaylynn & Phil bring vast experience and a proven track record of success in their areas, which will be invaluable moving forward with the Chambers goals and objectives in our new three year strategic plan. I am confident that both will be an excellent match for their position and a strong asset to the Chamber.

Please join me in extending a heartfelt welcome to both Kaylynn & Phil as they begin their journey here at the Chamber.

- Dave Minor, President & CEO, Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce

Join the Chamber's Health & Wellness program for a session on "Taking Care of You" - a session focused on stress management.

Taking Care of You (TCY) is a research-based program that offers practical strategies and experiences to help people deal with the stress in their lives. Managing life’s challenges in healthy ways allows participants to take better care of themselves and their overall health.

Participants will consider ways to:

  • Become more aware of the mind-body connection and how to use this awareness for better health
  • Develop habits that can lead to a healthier person: body, mind, and spirit
  • Respond versus react to the stress in life
  • Discover opportunities in life’s challenges
  • Find ways to bring more joy into life
  • Simplify life
  • Live more in the moment

About our presenter:
Jeanne Walsh works for the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Division of Extension, as the Human Development & Relationship Educator for Chippewa County. Jeanne has been with Chippewa County for the past 4 years, and her primary program areas include both financial stability and health and wellbeing. She is a Master Trainer in Taking Care of You: Body, Mind, Spirit, a research-based stress management program for adults. Jeanne will be sharing some practical strategies and experiences from the Taking Care of You program, and participants will come away with a unique stress management approach designed to help them deal with the stress in their lives.

Thank you to our program sponsors for making this seminar possible:

Attend this edition of Eggs & Issues to get a valuable update on what's happening in Washington, DC, that impacts our local economy. We'll dive into the outlook for trade policies - the impact of tarriffs and the outlook for international negotiations - as well as what's happening with the hot button issue of immigration. We'll also get a perspective on expectations for action on infrastructure, the reauthorization coming up for surface transportation, and get insight on how federal tax reform actually turned out. The U.S. Chamber's John Kirchner will join us to bring a candid, business-focused perspective on these issues that you won't hear from political parties or the national news media.  John serves as the manager of Congressional and Public Affairs for the Midwest Region, where he develops and implements the Chamber's grassroots legislative and political activities.
