Event Description:
The Eau Claire Children’s Theatre will present “Roald Dahl’s JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH” February 3-5 at the at the State Theatre in downtown Eau Claire. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that results in a tremendous peach and launches a journey of enormous proportions. With jazz inspired music by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (“A Christmas Story,” “Dogfight,” “Smash,” “Dear Evan Hansen,” “La La Land”) this delightfully off-beat musical adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl adventure is a true “masterpeach!” Performances are scheduled for Friday, February 3 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, February 4 at 10:00am and 1:30 p.m.; and Sunday, February 5 at 1:30 p.m. Reserved seating tickets are $22 for adults, $18 for seniors, $12 for students, and $8 for youth ages 12 and under. Theatre-goers can add to their experience by attending “James’ Giant Adventure” on Saturday, February 4, at 12:00 p.m. Those attending will participate in crafts, games, and treats, and meet the cast before the show. Tickets are $5.00 per person (does not include show ticket) and advance registrations are required. JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH is sponsored in part by WEAU 13 News, Smiles in Motion Pediatric Dentistry, iHeart Media Eau Claire, Macy’s, Oakwood Mall, and the Eau Claire Regional Arts Council. For tickets or more information, visit www.ecct.org or call 715-839-8877.
