Help Protect Small Business Retirement Plans from Burdensome New DOL "Fiduciary" Rule

The US Department of Labor (DOL) has proposed new rules affecting small business retirement plans that would redefine what a "fiduciary' is and apply additional complex and burdensome regulations related to employers and their financial advisors.

The US Chamber of Commerce warns that, under the proposed rule, small business SEP IRA and SIMPLE IRA arrangements will become more expensive to serve, meaning that small businesses will ultimately lose access to their advisors and disproportionately bear the costs of excessive regulation. Consequently, the DOL's proposed regulations risk hurting the very small and workers they are intended to protect.

What you can do: These proposed regulations have progressed to the point that intervention from Congressional representatives may be the most effective avenue to stop their implementation. If this change could impact your organization's plans, contact your US Senators and your Congressman to express your concerns about the proposed Fiduciary Rule. Click on each of the links below to write a letter to:

US Senator Tammy Baldwin
US Senator Ron Johnson
Congressman Ron Kind
