The world of work is changing. The need for a flexible workforce is on the rise and because of this, the partnership between an organization and its staffing agency has evolved. As joint employers, it is important to understand the roles and responsibilities of each party involved. This Lunch & Learn session will provide attendees with practical advice on co-employment concerns and provide best practices in implementing the new OSHA/NIOSH recommended practices.

Group Project Ideas Needed

The Chamber is requesting service projects for both our adult and Youth Leadership Eau Claire programs. Are you involved with a non-profit organization and have a project that you need help with? Submit a proposal!

What kind of projects?
Each year, we divide our LEC and YLEC classes into teams of 6-9 people to work on community service projects.

For the youth program, the projects that work the best are projects the teenagers can feel passionate about, work together as a team and accomplish something positive for the community. In the past, groups have painted murals, created programming events for children, cleaned up parks, etc.

For the adult program, we ask for project ideas that are more in-depth than simple volunteer tasks, such as painting a room. In the past, groups have designed signage for Beaver Creek Reserve, planned large events like the Holiday Parade and created volunteer manuals and databases.

What doesn't work?
NO fund raising projects of any kind will be accepted. This includes asking the group to plan an event that is intended as a fund raiser. Also, the projects may not be political.

Deadlines
YLEC - Extended deadline July 24

Proposals for the YOUTH program are due by Friday, July 24. More information and a proposal form are available here.

LEC - August 1
Proposals for the ADULT program are due by Friday, August 1. More information and a proposal form are available here.

A list of all past group projects is available here.

If you have any questions, please contact Becky Seelen (715-858-0615).

22nd Annual Chippewa Valley Rally

This annual event is organized by the Chippewa Valley Chamber Alliance, made up of the Chippewa Falls, Menomonie and Eau Claire Chambers of Commerce. You'll be part of a team of several dozen area business and community leaders traveling to Madison for small group meetings at legislative offices, a luncheon address by the Governor (invited), informal discussions with lawmakers and staff at the closing reception, and networking with others from the area who are interested in government policy.

Sponsorship and registration information will be available soon. For more information, contact Scott Rogers (715-858-0616) .
