Hacking and IT security has become such a regular news item that many business people are becoming numb to it, instead concluding that there is little they can do to protect their businesses, a concept known in the IT security industry as 'breach fatigue." However, while the large company and state-sponsored breaches are the focus of the news, small and midsize businesses are still the most targeted by hackers because they are the easiest prey. To protect your business, you must first understand the nature of the threat, then how to combat it.

In this presentation, you will learn who is doing the hacking, how it works, recent issues and trends facing small businesses in our area and reasonable steps to take to provide a high level of deterrence to hackers coming after your business. This presentation is designed for business leaders who do not have an IT background and promises to be entertaining and provide practical advice that can be put into action quickly.

SOHO

SOHO Coffee Talk: Small Business/Small Cost Marketing Ideas
Thursday, November 16
8:15 - 9:15 a.m.

Northbound Supply Co.
215 N. Barstow Street

Sponsored by: The Construction Hub and Everclear Hearing Products, LLC

Many SOHO owners are one or two-person entities with big dreams and little to no advertising or marketing budgets to make their dreams happen. No worries! There are ways for organizations of all sizes to create big awareness of what they do, how to find new potential clients, and most of all, work smarter rather than harder to fill sales funnels for the least amount of money. Some of the ideas that will be covered will include:

1. How to establish yourself as the expert in your field
2. How to leverage that new reputation
3. How to best network so you don't end up not-working
4. How and when to walk from the social media time and energy vortex

Presenter: Ronnie Roll, Ronnie Roll Business Services
