The Eau Claire Chamber will be hosting a chalet at the 2018 Chippewa Valley Air Show on Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17. There are 50 tickets available for each day at a cost of $95 each. For that price, you will receive seating, food and beverages. Please reserve your tickets online.

Wisconsin Congressman Ron Kind (D-3) and US House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer will join us for a special business luncheon to discuss federal issues of concern to the business community. Kind has represented our area in Washington since 1997, and Hoyer, representing Maryland's 5th District since 1981, is the second-ranking Democrat in Congress.

Spring General Election April 3: Important Local Races to be Decided

Make sure you have a voice in deciding who is making the decisions at city hall, the county courthouse, your local school district, and other important offices.

This year's non-partisan Spring Election includes a statewide ballot for Supreme Court, and local races in area communities for city council, county board and school board positions. Click here to see what specific candidates are on your ballot.

Election Day polls are open 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Click here to find your polling place. Voter ID is required.

Local Employers Sought for Eau Claire School District Youth Apprenticeships

Need some extra help in your business, and want to jump start a future career for a high school student at the same time?

The Eau Claire School District is looking for employers who are interested in employing high school students in several career fields as part of an expanded Youth Apprenticeship initiative. The program combines work experience with academics, in an experience where a student can learn skills, explore a career, and make connections between the school courses and job readiness. There are a variety of industries for students to participate in: Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources; Architecture & Construction; Art, A/V Technology & Communications; Finance; Health Science; Hospitality & Touris; Information Technology; Manufacturing; Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM); and Transportation, Distribution & Logistics.

Take on a local Teacher Externship this summer

Want to help infuse practical knowledge of local business into the knowledge base and curriculum plans of a local teacher?

Then consider bringing on a teacher externship for your business this summer, a 3-day to 5-day paid summer externship that will lead to teachers developing lesson plans for their classes embedded with their new career knowledge.
