Highlight Your Business Through Business of the Week

Want to highlight your business on the web and social media? The Chamber has a new opportunity for its Chamber members to do just that!

Starting this week, one Chamber member will have the opportunity to be highlighted with a photo on the homepage of the Chamber's website which will then hyperlink to a page on the site with an article on the business. You can also have additional photos or a YouTube video on the page.

For more exposure, we will share this information on our social media platforms, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. In addition, the top ad position on The Update will indicate the member as Business of the Week with a hyperlink to the article.

The photo on our homepage will be featured from Monday through Sunday but the other information will remain indefinitely!

Take advantage of this new opportunity by reserving your spot online. The cost is $250 per week.

Thank you to our first Business of the Week, Manpower! Make sure you check them out.

What's it all about?? Tax cuts! Well maybe not so much. While marketed as a huge tax cut for businesses and individuals, not every change made by the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will result in lower taxes (or taxable income). The relationship between employers and their employees has always been impacted by the tax code, and some of the changes made by the TCJA of 2017 will directly affect that relationship. Even something as simple and innocuous as employer-provided parking will be treated differently starting in 2018 unless employers make some changes to how the parking is provided and paid for.

Part 3 of our DIP: Development Improvement Process

As part of our DIP Program, we've discussed Strategic Planning (Part 1) and Marketing on a Budget (Part 2), so what's next? For this session, we will focus on something we often try to ignore or avoid: Cash Flow Management.

How can you better track your revenue and expenses? Or use your financial data to assess business success and focus on the most profitable ventures? And do you understand your unique cash flow situation and how to best manage it? Our panel of experts will discuss tips on prepping, preparing, and completing your financials. They will share with you some things you can do yourself and also when it may be time to get some help. And, most importantly, they will make sure you can learn from your financials and keep things simple. Don't over complicate your income!

Audience participation is encouraged so please bring your questions. Our panelists are Cory Coulombe, CJC Company and Evlyn Carlile, Simple Office Solutions with an introductory "entrepreneur" story by Scott Wallace, S.A. Wallace LLC.
