What's it all about?? Tax cuts! Well maybe not so much. While marketed as a huge tax cut for businesses and individuals, not every change made by the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will result in lower taxes (or taxable income). The relationship between employers and their employees has always been impacted by the tax code, and some of the changes made by the TCJA of 2017 will directly affect that relationship. Even something as simple and innocuous as employer-provided parking will be treated differently starting in 2018 unless employers make some changes to how the parking is provided and paid for.

The Chamber will present its fourth annual Sales Conference to help sales professional learn new tips, discuss different strategies and refresh ideas to help boost their sales performance. From seasoned sales professionals to those just starting their careers, this conference will empower them with better tools to make this their best sales year ever!

Conference includes the opening keynote session, four different breakout sessions and a Progressive Power Lunch! Jerry Kollross of UW-Eau Claire will kick off the conference with a keynote address on a historical perspective on how professional sales theory has changed and how it has remained the same over the years. Following the breakout sessions, attendees will participate in a fast-paced networking lunch. The Progressive Power Lunch is an easy way to make contacts fast. Here's how it works: attendees will be assigned to a different table for each course of lunch (salad, entree and dessert.) At each table everyone will be asked to share business cards and give a short infomercial on their business/services. By the time lunch is over, each attendee will have gained 15+ business contacts. Be sure to bring plenty of business cards.

Excellence in Education Banquet: Sponsors & Nominations Needed

Each year, the Chamber hosts the Excellence in Education Banquet where we honor 60 area high school seniors and their honored educators from 10 high schools. This year's event will be held on May 2 at the Florian Gardens Conference Center.

As part of our DIP Program, we've discussed Strategic Planning (Part 1) and Marketing on a Budget (Part 2), so what's next? For this session, we will focus on something we often try to ignore or avoid: Cash Flow Management.

How can you better track your revenue and expenses? Or use your financial data to assess business success and focus on the most profitable ventures? And do you understand your unique cash flow situation and how to best manage it? Our panel of experts will discuss tips on prepping, preparing, and completing your financials. They will share with you some things you can do yourself and also when it may be time to get some help. And, most importantly, they will make sure you can learn from your financials and keep things simple. Don't over complicate your income!

Join local Chamber members and business people from around the state at the annual Business Day in Madison, presented by Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce. Get insights on economic trends, political updates, and business innovation from a variety of engaging speakers including investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson, Townhall.com Political Editor Guy Benson, author and Fox News commentator Gret Gutfeld and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (invited). The Chamber will coordinate car pooling for those interested and discounted lodging is available for those traveling in the night before.

Schedule: Optional opening reception February 27, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Main Conference on February 28, 7:30 a.m. registration, 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. sessions. Lunch included.
