The Chamber is seeking volunteers to present a seminar during the Business Expo & Job Fair on Tuesday, October 18 at the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center. The Committee is particularly interested in topics of interest to employers OR advice to job seekers but will consider all proposal ideas.

In an ever evolving and fragmenting online and offline marketing world, selling and teaching/coaching up is a perpetually evolving skill. Getting buy in from decision makers and coaching points of contact to sell up is a skill that is becoming increasingly important. The further you are from the customer, the more you rely on data and examples to make a decision. For the CEO or any decision maker, examples, references, storytelling and KPIs are critical for them to make a decision. With decentralized decision making, it frequently takes more than a nice slideshow or PowerPoint deck to give the materials necessary to move someone down the path to purchase goods or ideas.

This special program is part of our ongoing education series for those involved in or responsible for workplace wellness to explore key topics and share information to make their programs more effective. Each session begins with a brief content presentation, followed by informal discussion among participants on the topic presented, or any other workplace wellness ideas or concerns that are on your mind.

August 10 topic: Effective activities to engage employees. Panelists include Michelle Harris from Charter Bank, Jamey McIntosh from Realityworks, and Lindsey Banaszynski from Prevea.

There is no charge to participate, but advance registration is required. This event is specifically designed for organizations who have active workplace wellness committees or are implementing a new workplace wellness program. The Chamber's Business & Workforce Development Committee is once again holding its Age of Opportunity Job & Volunteer Fair, Tuesday, September 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Oakwood Mall.

This is an excellent opportunity for your organization to interact with experienced, dependable and motivated workers interested in part time, full time, seasonal or volunteer opportunities. It takes place during National Employ Older Workers Week.
