Eau Claire Chamber President & CEO Announces Retirement
Bob McCoy, President & CEO of the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce, who will be 69 this October, announced at this morning's Chamber Board meeting that he will be retiring on Friday, June 2, 2017, after 23 years with the Chamber. McCoy's retirement celebration date is already set for Thursday, June 1, 2017, 4 p.m. at the Lismore Hotel.
The Board has established a selection committee which will begin a national search for McCoy's replacement. The new President & CEO is expected to begin work on June 5, 2017. Those serving on the selection committee include:

The criteria for the new President will be: College degree, 6-10 years in Chamber or Association Management, Graduate of the US Chamber's Institute for Organization Management program and CCE (Certified Chamber Executive) designation-preferred.
McCoy began his Chamber career in Rock Rapids, IA as the Executive Vice President of the Community Affairs Corporation (Chamber & EDC) from 1980-1983, then EVP of the Fairmont, MN Chamber and Fairmont Growth Opportunities (Economic Development Corporation) from 1983-1986. He was President of the Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce and Executive Director of Jobs Inc. (Economic Development Corporation) from 1986-1994 before coming to the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce in 1994.
Prior to Chamber work, McCoy taught elementary education at Central Lyon School in Rock Rapids IA, then worked for DGR Engineering firm from 1973-1975 until he began working for Iowa State University doing organization management in their 4-H & Youth Program. He left Iowa State to begin his chamber career.
