2017 Chippewa Valley & Coullee Region Wage Survey

We are pleased to announce that the La Crosse area will now be represented, so we have changed our name to the Chippewa Valley & Coulee Region Wage Survey!

The survey is distributed on March 20, due back by May 20 and is published in July. We are proud to be covering employers from five Chambers of Commerce in Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, La Crosse, Menomonie and Rice Lake areas, as well as the local chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management in Eau Claire and La Crosse.

We need area employers to contribute their data in order to keep the wage survey viable and relevant; data is kept confidential. We have made it easy to participate, so please review the instructions and complete the forms. Forms can be obtained on the Chamber's website.

There is a minimal cost to receive the report when it is available in July, and Chamber or CVSHRM membership qualifies businesses for discounted pricing.

If you have any questions, please contact Casey Schumacher (715-858-0614).

YLEC

YLEC Applications:
Due April 7

Accepting Applications
The Chamber is currently accepting applications for its Youth Leadership Eau Claire class. Do you know current sophomores from Altoona, Augusta, Fall Creek, Memorial, North, or Regis high school who wants to develop leadership skills and become more involved in the community? Encourage them to apply! Application deadline is April 7. More information can be found on the Chamber's website.

Sponsors
The Eau Claire Chamber Education Foundation is seeking sponsors to support its Youth Leadership Eau Claire program. Each year, about 70 students apply for the class with enrollment of only 36. The program is made possible with $500 sponsorships for each student. Please consider becoming a sponsor and helping us develop our future community leaders. If your business would be interested in providing a $500 sponsorship for a student to participate in the program, please contact Becky Seelen (715-858-0615). Thanks for the consideration.

A list of current sponsors is available on the Chamber's website. We truly appreciate your support!

Vote Next Tuesday:
Spring General Election April 4

This year's non-partisan Spring Election includes a statewide ballot for Superintendent of Public Instruction, and local races in many communities for city council and school board positions. Click here to see what specific candidates are on your ballot.

Election Day polls are open 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Click here to find your polling place. Voter ID is required.

The Chamber does not endorse candidates, but our Good Government Council provides candidate questionnaires to help members make informed choices. Many local races in Eau Claire and Altoona are uncontested this Spring. However, the Good Government Council still gave all candidates the opportunity to answer its questions so that citizens can learn what their priorities will be in their next term. Click on the links below to see questionnaires with candidate answers for the following local positions:

Eau Claire City Council President
Eau Claire Area School District Board of Education
Altoona City Council

Altoona School Board candidates were invited to answer the questionnaire, but did not respond.

What's different?

  • New time: The start time has been changed to 8 a.m. We thought 7:30 a.m. may have been a little too early for some of you!
  • New location: You may love the Chamber office but there are many great member locations! Each quarter, the event will be held at the sponsor location.
  • New registration: Registration will be required since there will be a maximum attendance (30 attendees for this event). The first five people who register (and attend) will receive a pass to attend Business After Hours. When you register online, it will indicate the other individuals that have registered.
